About
Ehsan Tahvilian

Ehsan Tahvilian is a master’s student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. His major field of study is Mechanical Engineering/Applied Design, focussing on biomechatronics aspects. He is working on Complex Human Activity Recognition (CHAR) of Parkinson’s patients using Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) based wearable systems. His research interests broadly lie in machine learning (especially deep learning and AI), robotics (especially medical robotics, telerehabilitation, and soft robotics), intelligent control using reinforcement learning, and algorithm design. He obtained his B.Sc. in mechanical engineering/mechatronics from the Isfahan University of Technology in 2020. He has also graduated as the first rank among the 127 students from his bachelor's. Thus, he got the merit-based admission for the master’s program at the Sharif University of Technology. Moreover, he has the experience of participating in an Italian internship at the Mathematics and Mechanics of Complex Systems (M&MOCS) research center in 2019, working on computational mechanics of composite structures under the supervision of Prof. Francesco dell’Isola and Prof. Erden Yildizdag.
